What was your first impression of Tokyo?
I guess it is a city that never sleeps or that is crowded with thousands of people. ..Others might say it is a city with lots of neon signs, skyscrapers and etc...
City life is so exciting but sometimes, you also need nature to rejuvenate your mind and body... Spending time in natural surroundings is the way to do it.
Here is a good tip for you.
Let me introduce you a couple of "green" sites in Tokyo.
Shinjuku Gyoen (originally designed as an imperial garden and then opened to the public as a national garden after WWII)
Only 5minutes' walk from JR Shinjuku station south exit, this park consists of Japanese, English and French style gardens. It is also known as one of the most popular spots for cherry blossom-viewing.
Hamarikyu (the family garden of Tokugawa shogun designed 350 years ago)
It is only a 4 minute walk from Tsukiji fish market. My recommendation would be watching the tuna auction; trying some fresh fish bowl and spending few hours exploring this Japanese style garden!
Enjoy a country walk in Tokyo city!!
